Next Phase in the Internet Video Evolution: HD-Quality Video Online

Justin Chapweske, Founder and CEO of Swarmcast, To Speak Next Month in San Francisco (Nov 12-13)

The next phase in the Internet video evolution, according to the Founder and CEO of Swarmcast, is to meet viewer expectations for video set by HDTV, and devise a way of delivering, long-form, HD-quality video on a website.

At next month’s iTV Internet Video Conference & Expo at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco (November 12-13), Justin Chapweske will demonstrate that enhancing video quality is now not only possible but simple – thanks to a new generation of backend technologies that are easy to deploy and use.

“By offering long-form, HD-quality video, content providers can capitalize on the online video opportunity and increase customer satisfaction,” Chapweske says.

In his session he will cover a range of important items to consider when choosing video applications for a corporate web site.

Swarmcast was recently awarded US Patent 7,277,950, which Chapweske refers to as the ‘File Swarming Patent.’ File Swarming algorithms fundamental to massive scale distribution of large volumes of data, including High Definition Internet Video.

The pioneering patent, which he authored in 2000, is entitled ‘Packet Transfer Mechanism Over a Peer-to-Peer Network,’ describes file swarming as a class of data transfer technology whereby data is broken up, distributed to other sources and then reassembled at an endpoint. These core algorithms form the foundation of many common modes of next-generation network data transfer, including peer-to-peer, grid content delivery and multi-source streaming.

”File swarming provides the ability to harness unused network capacity by distributing and exchanging small pieces of data between servers, network routers or personal computers,” Chapweske adds.

Swarmcast's CEO heads a star-studded inaugural iTVCon speaker faculty, including:

Swarmcast is dedicated to transforming the Internet into a reliable medium for distributing high-quality video, Chapweske says. The company mission is to enable content providers to engage global audiences through high-quality viewing experiences.

Justin Chapweske, founder and CEO of Swarmcast, is the original inventor of multi-source streaming, which utilizes bandwidth from multiple servers and aggregates packets of information from each in real-time. Swarmcast implements multi-source streaming to deliver full-screen, long-form broadcast and High Definition quality video over standard broadband to large audiences.
